Read The Book!

My new cell phone is really a pocket computer!  The salesperson says it will do amazing things.  It can pick up emails from work and home, surf the net anywhere and anytime, it uses windows programs including power point presentations, it can text message, call anywhere in the country will play movies and even has an mp3 player and an alarm. Oh, yes, and it's a phone too.

But, the only thing I can do is text message and make a phone call.  I even have trouble answering it sometimes.  Because I haven't read all of the book  of instructions that came with it;  I don't get to do all of the things this super phone will do.I only can do what I've figured out on my own using what I knew from my old phone.

The Bible says that God has amazing plans for us.  It says that He has more than we have seen, heard or can imagine in store for us.  But, because we haven't read the book we don't know how to get to it!  We tend to try and figure it out using what we knew from our old life.   We are missing all of the wonderful things that God has provided for us to have because we haven't spent time with The Book.

I don't know about you, but I plan to sit down with the book that came with my phone and learn all of these amazing new features.  I also am going to sit down again with my Bible and remind myself of all the power and all of the life that God has provided for me if I will simply take him at His Word.  The Word that I will find in that Bible.  I'm going to stop trying to figure it out on my own and use the instructions that He gives in The Book.  I want all of the amazing gifts and the great future that God has for me, don't you? He's left us the instructions, but we have to read them in His Book, The Bible.

Remember, You are loved - I read that in The Book.
